Airmar B21 Bronze Tapered Transducer Housing

The Airmar B21 tapered bronze housing can be installed to lie flush with the hull to avoid protrusion of the housing into the water flow. This is the tapered version of the B17, and fits the same transducers. This housing does not have a valve.

A version of this housing is available in plastic (P314). Low-profile versions are also available (P17, B17, SS577).

This item is the housing only and does not include a transducer insert.

Low-Profile vs Tapered Housings

A low-profile housing has a rounded cap that sits outside the hull and protrudes a short distance into the water flow. A tapered housing can be installed so that the housing is flush with the hull and nothing protrudes (except in some cases a paddlewheel). Tapered housings should only be installed by experienced professionals.
