P79 NMEA 0183 Depth Transducer P79-235-0

The P79 is a 50/200kHz fishfinder transducer that mounts inside a hull - no hole is needed in the hull. The active element mounts in a small round tank (included) which is epoxied to the hull and filled with antifreeze. This transducer is for use with solid fiberglass hulls only. Cored hulls will impede the signal. This unit cannot measure water temperature.

This item consists of the P79 smart transducer with a 10M cable ending in bare wires for connection to NMEA 0183 instruments or multiplexers.

Although most P79s are now made as a generic 'mix and match' (MM) transducer with a brand-specific adapter cable, this unit has a different internal circuitry and a permanent fixed 10M cable and cannot be used with MM adapters.

This transducer has an NMEA 0183 interface. It can be connected to any instrument with an NMEA 0183 input. The instrument used must be capable of reading and displaying the NMEA 0183 sentences output by this transducer. The interface cable also contains connections for a 12V DC supply. Power must be provided to the transducer for it to work. The NMEA 0183 data connection does not power the transducer.
