The R599C CHIRP transducer has 24 broadband ceramic elements for high or medium frequencies, and one large low-frequency element. It comes with a tank for in-hull mounting. The R599C delivers 6 times the sensitivity of the M265C, and its ultra-low frequency performance gives access to deep water canyons and sea-mounts.
These revolutionary transducers continuously operate across a range of frequencies, rather than at the traditional dedicated frequencies of 50 kHz or 200 kHz. When transmitting at dedicated frequencies, targets that are smaller than the 50 kHz or 200 kHz sound wave may be undetected and therefore not shown on the fishfinder display. With CHIRP, the transmitted signal covers a wide band of frequencies, providing significant improvements in the ability to detect all targets in the water column. More bottom and water column area is covered as the beamwidth constantly changes from narrow to wide while the transducer is "chirped" across the specified band.
The beamwidth of the transducer signal is adjustable under the control of the sounder, and can range from 9-23 degrees in the low frequency range, 8-13 degrees in the medium range and 4-8 degrees in the high range.
CHIRP transducers are for use only with CHIRP-compliant sounders and fishfinders.
This '-LM' version of the transducer chirps from 28-60kHz in the low range and from 80-130kHz in the medium range, giving deeper sounding than the high-frequency version.
