Suzuki 990C0-88134 NMEA 2000 Engine Interface

We no longer stock this part. Suzuki accessories can be purchased from Brown's Point Marine.
This Suzuki engine interface allows Suzuki engines made in 2008 or later to be connected to a standard NMEA 2000 network. All engine data is then made available to any displays on the network. The interface plugs either into the engine inside the housing or into a connector under the dash. The other end of the cable has a standard NMEA 2000 male connector to plug into a spare T on your network backbone. The overall cable length is 63 inches (1.60 meter).
This part replaces the Lowrance 120-55 Suzuki engine interface, which has been discontinued.

Earlier Engines With Round Connector (DF40 to DF250)
For engines made between 2004 and 2007, you should use the previous model of engine interface, the Suzuki 990C0-88034. Because the 88034 was made for the now-discontinued Lowrance 'blue' network, which is not NMEA 2000-compliant, this older engine interface is sold with a Lowrance 127-05 red-blue adapter cable so that it can be used with current standard NMEA 2000 networks.
Engines after 2008 (DF40 to DF250)
In 2008 the communication connectors inside the engine were changed from the previous 8-pin round housing to a 4-pin square housing. This interface has that newer connector and so will fit these engines without any other adapter being needed. Also in 2008, the engine wiring harness was changed so that the engine interface can now be connected either inside the engine or under the dash. Connecting under the dash makes for a simpler installation. A Suzuki technical bulletin is posted below that shows the connection method in detail for each engine model.
Whether you connect in the engine or in the dash, you will have to separate two connectors in the engine housing. If you are going to make the interface connection in the engine housing, you then attach one of these connectors to the Suzuki adapter and then to the engine interface cable. If you are going to make the interface connection under the dash, you attach one of these connectors to a spare connector found in the housing, which then leads up to the dash area. The Suzuki technical bulletin posted below shows where these connectors are located inside the engine housing for each engine model.
Engines after 2008 (DF300)
The DF300 engines need adapters to be able to use this interface (see links below). You will need one adapter per boat and one of these engine interfaces for each engine in a multiple-engine installation.
Suzuki Technical Bulletin
The technical bulletin posted below describes how to make the connections for the engine interface for each of the engine models DF40 to DF250. In each case, follow the instructions for using the 'serial bus gauges' or 'optional digital gauges' or 'Teleflex gauge'.
